Me, Myself & Opera

Hahahaha..... This is part of the fooling around in Indonesia. In this show, Xue Ding Shan, alot of us only have parts in the first half of the show so we were basically lazing around in the backstage during the second half. That's why I have alot of photos from the xue ding shan show but little from the others. First of all, the fool around king is Yu Zhen. Look wat she did.... Hahaha.. so lame right.. Aiyoh.. I was sitting there and liqin suddenly said,"Yuzhen, do your monkey show Miko leh..." May and Liqin's fingers... Liqin is trying to do a nice handsign but.. well.. she need to bend her fingers back abit more.. hee hee... :P You point me, I point you. I secretly took this photo from the backstage. Hee hee.. hope teacher din see me wor.. If not she will.. -_-" Me and susan.. Susan try to be xiao niao yi ren la.. i hate to take photos with her cuz she so skinny! Haiz.. But this photo is funny la.. so nvm.. let u all see.. Me and yuzhen~ I copying her monkey p...

Suddenly I found this picture. Me and may were returning earrings to each other. I was wearing pink and she was wearing yellow. We realised that we have earrings that suited each other so we exchanged.. hee hee.. we also exchanged a necklace which we used to put behind our heads for this show~ I think this photo was taken after the show, taken by YH. This yh still got time to take photos lor.. so funny.

Lu Di Yuan is a very talented pekin opera actor acting lao sheng. He won a pekin opera award when he was 6 and was one of the '4 little lao sheng' in China. Looks cute right... However, he found out that he had leukemia when he was going to 17 years old. It has been a year since he started fighting the disease and he has lost all his hair due to the treatment. I felt rather sad for him as he was really a talented actor. That's him at 17 before losing his hair... And him after he lost his hair. He wanted to stop the treatment as the treatment was very expensive but his classmates gather donations by peforming. Classmates including Wang Pei Yu, Mu Yu and Chang Qiu Yue. Fans all over china donated money for him for the operations. There are even fans from Japan gathering donations for him.... A manga drawing of lu di yuan.. Nice. I like the drawing.. so cute! I just realised that I have an excerpt done by him when he was 9 years old. The excerpt is very nice and he sang ver...

Kok ah ban, we heard that many times before and we did kok ah ban a few times in our troupe also but this version of kok ah ban I am uploading is a super version. Somemore its done by 2 kids, the first one is 8 years old and the second is only 6! Hee hee... super cute right.. have to pei fu their brain power.

Yeah... I have done the clip of Huo Zhuo San lang... That day the chuanju mentioned that they will do Huo Zhuo San Lang but in the end they did not. So sad leh. I like this show. The clip I uploaded is done by 2 kids, the dan is 14 years old and the clown is 12 years old. I think they did a pretty neat job yo and the dan sang well. I like the piece that the dan sang. Suddenly, I hope that I can learn this role.... :)

Haiz... Someone actually just told me that he/she dunno who is qing rong. My god.. how can someone not know qing rong when someone like to watch ylh gzx? Very weird. I say.. she is the one who acted as xue jin lian when xu xiu nian was fan li hua.. Then that someone told me.. oh.. that fat fat one.. -_-" Qing rong is very pretty ok.. wat fat fat... so I am going to upload a pretty qing rong clip.. Pretty qing rong.. too bad she passed away so young.. :(

Well, MD never see this show before so I decided to cut a clip and put it here. It is the first time I am cutting a GZX clip yo! Hee hee... Also another friend wanted to see HXY tv drama so I cut her part. It's one bird two stones. I still got one more clip to cut. Huo Zhuo San Lang. Last week went to see Chuan ju. Tot that they will show Huo Zhuo San Lang but in the end they didn't. I dunno why. Sad la, so I wanted to cut a clip of the peking opera version.

Well, I didnt want to blog anymore but I can't resist to upload the following photo... hahahah.. I like it alot. Please see.. Erm, handsome or not? I was actually doing eunuch lah but I seldom dress up as Sheng so this is one of my few so called, sheng photos. Pretty boy right? :P Tian was fooling around with me, that day, I took alot of silly photos but I will blog again another day~

Despite all the tight performing schedule, we still got time to go shopping, surprisingly. However, we only had about 2 hours for shopping. We have to buy whatever we want in this 2 hours. The organiser brought us to this shopping centre which don't really have anything nice to buy and the things are EXPENSIVE. It's the same price range as in Singapore. OMG.. We went to eat KFC first before shopping. May like KFC and we were abit hungry as we didn't eat much breakfast. The hotel's breakfast sucks. At the hotel.. We dunno wat to eat.. U see my mum scratching her head. Shopping lor, but u can see, there is really nothing much to buy and the things are ex. That YH is taking photos for her blog. Both of us are busy taking photos for blogs. Posing while my mum is buying something and richard is bargaining price for her. Finally, i put up a photo of me without make up.... Hahaha, 50% off! but ugly clothes.... We walk around for about 1 hour but I didn't buy anything as th...

Tonight.. I am going to watch this.. woo hoo.. so excited. See the zhe zi xi? They are all stuntful excerpts. My god.. Chuan Ju is so famous for stunts u see...

Amai posted a clip of revamped nanyin so I will post a clip of new nanyin created by SL. It is named as SLmusic. Quite nice I think and it uses computerised Midi to create the background music. The vocal was done by an ex teacher of SL... We have a few SLmusic pieces but this was my favourite. It is an excerpt of the Chen San Wu Niang story. I will type out the lyrics to aid u in listening. If the player stuck there halfway through the song, please replay it again and it should load. My western friends like this piece alot also and ask me where they can get the CD. Unfortunately, we do not plan to cut any albums yet... :D What do u think?

Today May told me that reading my blog is part of her daily breakfast and I didn't blog yday so she got felt that her breakfast is not complete. ok la ok la.. today blog about Qian Nv ok.. your favourite.. Qian Nv Incident After the drastic show MLJ, I tot that a show can't get any worse but I was wrong. Qian Nv You Hun on the second night was a disaster. The mic totally can't make it one. None of the clip mics are working. kok up la..... I was hoping tat my mic will be fine but unfortunately.... My scene 3 with all the other ghosts parading was fine. The mic didn't really kok up but May's mic wasn't working. Xiao mei is very nice la, she want to exchange her mic (which is working) to May. So she went over (on stage!) and took off May's waitao to remove the clip mic! May was shocked and stunned there as she was wearing only a du dou... hahaha. She told me she kana stipped by Xiao mei, very paiseh. hahahaha. Then the show went on and after I finish singing o...

Just received Min ju from a fren, titled 贻顺哥烛蒂. I havent watch it yet but since someone requested that I upload it, I will randomly upload this clip...

Yah.. Today's topic is about the koking up.. Well.. This is the worse part I guess and there are so many things koking up that it will take me days to blog. So I am going to blog just a few incidents. I think I will tell u all about me koking up.. Instead of the others.. (if not later they sue me) Yu Lou Chun incident I name this the Yu Lou Chun incident cuz my Yu lou chun kok up. Yu Lou Chun is a tune in GZX, a real slow tune which may hates. At the beginning of scene 2 of MLJ, I am supposed to sing 2 verses of yu lou chun then May will appear and sing the 3rd verse. We will then proceed on to talk about the competition between liu guo jiu and huang fu shao hua (HFSH). My yu lou chun part went smoothly but when May stepped onto the stage, the lights went off. Poor may.. the audience din see her 'liang xiang'. Then the lights sort of flicker and came on again. May proceeded to sing her yu lou chun 3rd verse then our scene finished smoothly. However, I felt that something is...

This is a video clip of us all chatting at the second floor lobby after a performance. We booked all the rooms on the second floor so there were no one else there. We can talk all we like without ppl complaining.... very funny lor... HXM was talking about her mistakes in the show. U probably dunno what she talking but it's really funny.. See she and hxy always arguing..

Well.. I really want to blog about my 4 days in Indonesia but I just don't know where to start. Alot of things happened and I think it will take me alot of entries to finish everything. Overall, my conclusion is.. I am very happy with the trip. I learnt alot of new things which can't be learnt in SG. I encounter things and problems which never happened when I performed in SG too.. I still thinking if i should blog my trip by topics or by days.... I think I will blog by topics... But first, I will list out our performances. Day 1 - Meng li jun (day), Tang bo hu (night) Day 2 - Qian Nv You Hun (night) Day 3 - Tang Bo Hu (day), Xue ding shan (night) Day 4 - Ramayana (day) Today's topic is.. HXY's fans... I was very surprised at the Re Qing-ness of her fans. In singapore, she has fans too but they usually just quietly give ang bao.. take 1 or 2 photos.. that's it. Over there.. The fans all barge up on stage and crowd around her fighting to take a photo of her. On our fi...

Yesterday was our last rehearsal before going to Indonesia. very siong... We started at 1pm, ended at 10pm! 9 hours non stop!~ There wasn't really any breaks in between rehearsals. Our dinner was bought back and eaten when our scenes were not on. Yesterday we rehearsed Meng Li Jun, then Tang Bo Hu, lastly, Ramayana. By the time we were doing Ramayana, Ang was like half dead.. She was flopped on the chair... motionless.watching me and wanzhi scolding each other.... heh.. Leaving on wednesday~ I am kinda excited to travel with this bunch of siao kias~

HXY is my teacher now at COI for GZX. (fei hua.. i think everyone knows liao) And recently, her sis came to rehearse with us for the coming performance at Indonesia. Hong xiu mei is a nice person~ Blur blur one but cute lor. She is willing to help the students and not stuck up like some other 'stars'. Alot of people ask me why I want to learn gzx instead of other opera types as I like many form of opera. Why GZX? Initially, I just want to play play with my mum in the troupe, not serious about wanting to do GZX but I think HXY kinda changed my mind. I have learnt opera from so many people, performed for many troupes before and i have never met someone like HXY. I know that GZX is not really very artsy and it is more coarse in comparision to other opera types. Hence, when HXY teach, she don't really go into details. She dun have the time anyway. However, I felt that she is so determined and her sense of professionalism is so strong. Alot of China teachers teach well and can ...
