Me, Myself & Opera

Hi guys, do you have any problems looking at the pics in this blog? Apparently, some people cannot see the pictures. Yesterday I saw that I have some more pictures from my phone that maybe I should upload them too cuz they are super funny. These pictures were taken before the show starts. After the show started, I did not have time at all to take any pictures. Took this during the rehearsal before the performance. There were many unstable scenes and we just have to keep rehearsing to the last minute. You can see lizuan at the corner carrying the baby. YH was saying that Lizuan is stoning there. Her employers are going through a hard time but she was just there stoning like it's none of her business. May will tell her employers to send her back to Malaysia. This maid very persistent. Last week send her back to Malaysia she still appeared this week to carry the babies. Maybe she got affections with them. Yh is very anti-social. Dont worry! You are not in the wrong blog! I have decided to change my blog's look since I am so free nowadays. I just changed the basic stuff here and am still thinking of how to further develope. So these few days you might come here and see some odd settings or odd colours cuz I will be testing the different layouts. How is it? Do you like my new look? I love pink so I am using pink. But my other blog, Mikolah is also using pink. Therefore, I think I will be making some changes there once I am done with my opera blog.

I have gone to GCB for a few times to watcht the puppet show from Zhangzhou. Most people think that puppet shows are boring but I think this troupe's puppet show is quite entertaining. They have their own sense of humour and the puppets were so lively and cute. They look as though they really have a life! On the first night, the puppet show put up a short story which main purpose is to display their various special effects. It was entertaining. The effects they came up with were quite interesting and the props used were quite cool. For example, there was a fight with demons and one of the demon's head suddenly exploded and water flowed out from it. Kinda violent but still cute. I took a video of the introduction to the puppets on the first night. They demonstrated a few stunts here. Take a look. Sorry sometimes the camera went out of focus because I was too engross in watching and never realised it. LOL.

I really dunno what to say about this. Unless you are in our troupe, I think it is very hard for you to imagine. I wonder how someone like Dr Chua can continue running COI with such poor management skills. I was supposed to have a performance last Saturday and it was prematuredly canceled on that morning of the performance. So in the end we all went to teacher's house for fun. Today, teacher called me and told me that we might act the Doctor show tonight and ask if I can make it. I told her I can but I doubt the others can because this is too last minute. The others did not bring their barang out and they have to go home to get it. She agreed with me and told me that she will push off this performance. An hour later, she called me again and asked me if the others can make it if it starts at 8pm. So I did my job of asking around. A few students can't make it today. Performing a show is a team effort so if one person is down, the whole troupe is down. In the end I feedbacked that...

Congratulations to Ponyo!! She has won the first price for the Folk Solo Competition in UK! She was competing with like 30 competitors from 11 countries. At first she didn't think that she will win because the competitors from the other countries were very strong. Nonethelss, she passed the tests and won the first prize! I am so happy for her. Here is a clip of Ponyo in the Semi-Finals. We even brought the flag! It was Susan's idea to bring the flag. Happy Ponyo was smiling from ear to ear. Hee hee, tho our instrumental group did not make it into the Finals, we are still glad that Ponyo did. She got 93/100 for the competition, the second prize got 90/100 and the third has got 86/100. We will go KTV to celebrate!!! YAY~
