Me, Myself & Opera

Went to a opera conference at the musuem on 16.12.06. I went there to watch the speeches by some of my selected experts but unfortuantely, I could not reach there early enuf to listen to Cai xinxin's talk about gzx but I did get to hear about the development of modern opera. Then there was this men who was introducing the galleries of the musuem. I din have a chance to visit the musuem though we got free tix cuz i need to rush to JB. Haiz, all and all, I missed alot of things from this conference. I missed Pan Yue Hong and missed Uncle's speech. Well, too bad. I didnt take alot of photos as my hp cannot zoom.. zoom le will become blur. In the above pic, the speaker was introducing the costumes they have collected in the musuem. Looks like I must find a good time to visit the musuem liao... Looks interesting.. I am so tired... Can't blog anymore...

Singapore is trying to create it's own brand and the brand name is Rojak. They are trying to make this brand name global. It does not include only singaporean designed products but also singapore traditional and modern fusion experience. ROJAK is more than a product. It offers an experience. Today I went to watch their show. They have been presenting this for the past 9 days already and all ther performers are like half dead. It is not an open performance. Just a small show case for invited guests. There was a new cocktail called Rojak Bespoke and I love it! Yummy.. If it is selling in bars, I will definitely go buy it. I wanted to reply to Amai's comment in my previous post but it got so long that I think it can become an entry by itself. Well... I dunno what is wrong with me inside gzx but she got comment other ppl doing well.. improving but for me it's always.. flop.. flop and more flop. To tell the truth, I am already very dishearten. I already did what I can. I practice the stupid do ma like hell. I practice my Taiwan show like hell.. but what's the use? I still fail what. Noe only fail lor, but fail badly. Everyone is doing fine, everyone is improving, only I am slacking, only I am stagnant. Say that I am xin bu zai yan, I have no heart in learning gzx. So why the hell am I spending so much money on it? Why should I pay so much school fees? Why should I spend so much time on this thing? Over the years of doing GZX, I have never never felt satisfied with my performance before. I always feel that I flop. I kana fired at today in class again. What the hell.. HXY say I xin bu zai yan. Come on lor. How many times have I got myself in depression over this GZX? So many bloody times that I can't count. I put in so much time and money.. I give up so many things around me just to do gzx and if this is bo sim then wat is got sim? Bloody hell. Sometimes, if you want to work hard, you must work hard in front of your boss lor and not work hard behind. Who the hell will know u work so hard? It is just like office politics I realised. You cannot do it behind, you have to do it in front. Show the others and show the teachers. If you work hard in front of them and blunder up the show, they will say "aiyah she tried her best le". If you work hard behind and then did the slightest mistake they will say "This miko slack la. See she can't even do simple things." Really lor.. I very pek cek. You guys know lor. You guys know how bloody pek cek and fan over my Do ma the other time...

Yah yah.. I know I blog about Mu Dan Ting zillion times liao but I just simply love this show so much lor. So I can't resist myself to buy this cantonese mudanting. Well, I am not an expert in Cantonese opera unlike Frannxis so my views are kind of shallow la.. I saw on the box that the female sheng, Wen Jian Fei, is from Hongkong while the dan is from GuangZhou. Seems like in China there are few female shengs in cantonese opera right? hmm. I dunno leh. Seldom see... Anyway I visited the Guangzhou Yue Ju Yuan before. At that time there was this teenager competition. I was almost chased out of the school as I was an outsider and outsiders are not allowed to go in. Fortunately, my friend's friend who was a teacher there let me in... The competition is kinda interesting leh. So happy to see the uprising stars of opera. Although they are not really that up to standard yet but can tell that they put in a lot of efforts and they were potential future stars. Hee hee.. My god.. saw som...
