Ridiculous COI

Remember some time ago I went to Indonesia to perform? It was Dr Chua who ASKED me if I can go help out their show. Initially they told me that I only need to dance then later on, it evolved to doing 5 roles. That aside, after we came back from Indonesia, he told us that there will be another on 20 Dec. As the Indonesia show was a mess and I had to do 5 roles, I declined to do the 20 Dec show. Shui called me a few days later to tell me that I had to go for the show because no one will be able to replace me in such a short time. I thought since they offered me to go Indonesia, I might as well help them to the end. Then one fine day, CBX called me and told me that if I want to act in the coming 20 Dec show, I have to pay fees. I was like.. WTF? The reason is cuz coi gives us a chance to perform so we should pay them abit to help out with the electricity bills. SUPER ULTRA LAME REASON!! DAMMIT! I told CBX that in that case, I will rather not have the opportunity to act. Frankly speaking, ...

My Role

I finally receive the rehearsing schedule for 高文擧. Lol... It's funny cuz I will be doing the role of 溫金. This is a baddie role and it's my second time doing a baddie. Hee hee. I am quite excited about it as it's been a long time since I last did a baddie role. It will be quite a change for me. So exciting! The show has altogether 5 scenes and I am doing only 2 scenes but that's enough already. :D This show is a very typical story of the man striking the top in the exam and abandoned his wife. He married a rich lady who is the daughter of the minister. The rich lady then locked up the wife when she came looking for the scholar. Eventually the scholar abandoned his position as an official and left with the wife. Yup, I am doing the minister's daughter who got the chance to scold people and beat up the wife. Lol... Another exciting is that we will be doing 'da tou' this time!! Yes de!!! Finally, I got the chance to do da tou.. I am so happy sia.

樓蘭女

A very modernised, westernised, deformed chinese opera! It's the most deformed one I have ever seen! The story is quite interesting though. It's about this lady who eloped with a man who is actually a prince. On the way to their dreamland, the lady's brother caught up with them. The lady killed her brother in order to elope with the guy. In the end, the guy can't take the tough life and married a princess. At this time, the poor lady already had 2 children with him. The anguished lady sent her children to deliver a poisonous bridal gown to the princess. The princess unknowingly wore the gown and died. Upon seeing his daughter dead, the king hugged her and got himself killed too. After both the king and the princess died, the lady, now a bit bonkers, killed her own 2 children too, leaving the man living in regret forever. Roughly the story is like this. It originated from a Greek myth.

Some funny photos

Image
Last week, a globe trotting lady requested to stay at my place when she comes Singapore to visit. As a friendly host, I agreed to let her stay here for a week. :D She is from Germany and she's a photographer. We had lots of fun together taking photos and fooling around, a really COOL friend. On the last day of her visit, my mum suggested that we put on make up so that Lana, the photographer, can help us take some photos. So we did the make up and put on some simple costumes to take the photos. It was very fun and we laughed alot during the whole thing. In fact, Lana brought us lots of laughter throughout her stay here! Anyway, she hasn't sent me the opera photos yet but I took some photos with mung mung and I tried doing some montage when I was very boliao. Cute right? hee hee. I like the photos with mung mung alot leh. Muackz! Eating mung mung! Mung mung is lollipop!

Solo Performance

Image
The solo performance was a mega MESS. The place really sucks because it's a old palace so it was not well equiped. 1) No Air-con 2) No fan 3) No mirrors 4) No proper dressing room Sigh... What the..... So we got to tolerate that harsh condition which made us stronger. Me and QY acting as maids on the first day. Me and mung mung. The yuejue actresses like our wigs very much but the find the price a bit too steep. I think the price is worth it because I have used this wig for 6 years and it's still as good as new (after washing and combing of course) People rehearsing in the carpark. Teacher Li, my second godfather. He asked me to call him lao ba one day. I was surprised but he insisted so ok lah. He is a fun loving and jovial person. Might be a bit blur sometimes but quite hardworking. Hahaha, look at this Lin Hong playing a fool with li laoba's ciggies. More poses Li lao ba also posing, he smoke far too much I think. I like to discuss opera with him and listen to his storie...
