Educational Opera Blog

Scene - Me and May sitting in a corner of XGC KTV. Me: You saw my blog on steps to do gzx hair? May: Ya I saw. Me: Do you think it's stupid? May: Ya, it's stupid lor. Me: OMG, How can you say it's stupid? I am a good friend ok. XJ said that it's cute. Apparently, May thought that my hair styling entry is stupid lor. It's not stupid because it is an educational entry. My opera blog is an EDUCATIONAL OPERA BLOG ok... There are people who might be interested in opera but hate to read chinese right? So I can write educational posts in english for the benefits of those people. (Though I think most people who read my blog already know all these opera information) Singaporeans generally read english better than chinese so I am doing something very noble. wOOt~ Please support my educational opera blog and the occasional nonsensical entries. If you would like to donate money to me, please PM me for my bank account. Thank you! (LOL)

Hair styling lesson

Image
Ok, here comes my hair styling lesson as requested by Anonymous. I don't who he/she is and he/she has not left me a comment yet. To Anonymous: I hope you are seing this because it took my some time to create this entire entry! And leave me a comment to let me know you have seen it. Hee hee~ The top most important thing in GZX opera hair styling is the front wig. For people with short hair, they will need the full wig but for me, I only need the front wig. A front wig for your info looks like this: Thanks to May and YH for this newly combed and washed wig. I showed the side view only because you can get a better idea why it's called a half wig. This thing cost a hefty $275. People who don't do opera said it's INSANE to buy a wig for that price but that is the market price. The back view of the wig. Step 1) Put a long shaped bun thing at the back of the wig for extra support. Previously, I don't use this long shaped bun but I realised that the width of my wig is too s...

Depression

Do you know what it feels like to be so ultimately depressed? You must experience it to know how exactly it feels like. It is the ultimately worse feeling in the world. So bad that it makes one think of giving up his/her life. There is simply nothing to live for. One will try to think hard about life. About what they want, about what there is to live for but they will never get an answer. Everyday is just a drag and you hate the world. You hate everything in this world Every single drop of happiness vanished. You may try very hard to be happy. Try to do those things that once made you happy but I am so sorry to tell you, happiness is not gonna come back. Even if you pretend you are happy, someday something will trigger you to be depress again. Imagine living each day without something to look forward to. After some time you will start thinking how long your life is. How much longer do you need to live with all these crap. Then you will think that perhaps it's better to die. You wis...

Hair styling

Recently, I got to know this Canadian girl who is interested in cultural stuff. We often talk about chinese opera and I am surprised that she does know some things about chinese opera and from my photo, she can tell that I am doing Ge Zai Xi. She is very interested in how I style my hair and how wig actually looks like so I told her that I will take photos of the process and explain to her. It is very difficult to explain the process without photos because she probably can't imagine what a 'gu ding' looks like. Yesterday I spent a good 1 hour or so messing with my wig and hair pieces. YH was smsing me at the same time but I told her I am busy. She ask me 'busy wat?'. I told her I am messing with my wig. She replied that I ki siao, no performance mess with wig for what. I am a very nice friend lor. If any friends of mine is interested in opera-related stuff, I don't mind make an effort and show it to them. In a way I am trying to spread the arts of opera. (Talkin...
