Me, Myself & Opera

Today, me, May and YH had dinner together at Yishun and we were talking relentlessly over silly things and laughing off like mad. Then we started talking about the songs distribution in our performances and we felt that the song distribution is quite ok in Ang's shows as all of us got to sing... even if you are a small maid. I told May,"ok lah, I go home do statistics and put on my blog lah." May: Hahaha.. ok la, you go do and post. Me: What show you all want me to do? May: MLJ lor. May like MLJ alot because it's a very 're nao' show with many actresses in most of the scenes. Here's the statistic for MLJ. Took me 30 min to do. NOTE: QY and YZ got no songs cuz they were eunuch with alot of 'shu ban' and lines but no songs. The tallest building is of course.... Ang's one. 17 songs. Dun think I never update for some time means I am not going to update lor. Not that I dun want to update or I got nothing to blog, just that I am busy. Almost rehearsing everyday.. and spent some time quarreling with stupid YX. Took some photos and videos from my rehearsal but I can't blog today cuz now too late and I very tired. Went to see May's Huangmei xi today.. my god, can you IMAGINE.. just IMAGINE May singing huangmei xi lor. I must watch but I cannot reach in time. So I watched the video they took instead. Hee hee.. Ang did some fanciful movements this time because Zhang Li requested it. She was abit stress la cuz she has to remember the moves and not just move as she want when she perform with us. It was quite funny to roam at Suntec with the costumes and make up. The rest of the party did not do up their hair or wear hat until they reached Suntec but I kiasu, I did my hair at Ang's house before heading Suntec. I don't want later go Suntec then stress.. and start to worry if my hair will fall off if I do big movements. Bala is too tall to do his hair at home lor. So funny. He wanted to do it at Ang's house but he realised that it will be impossible to sit comfortably in a CAR if he did. His hair is so BIG ok. The show as expected, flopped.... but Ang didn't kp much. I guess she knows that it is hard for us to learn everything in 2 days. There was a part where we missed the music and overshot because Chua wanted us to insert a dialogue.. Ang did not extend the music so we overshot. It was bala and my dialogue. We stared at each other as we both knew that we have missed the music for moving offstage. Tomorrow is the performance and I have been re-learning my qian nv role for the past 2 days. My 2 days quest of re-learning the role is not going very well cuz my muffled voice still prevented me from reaching high notes and I am still forgeting lines and movements. Haiz. Actually my parts in the show did not decrease alot though this time the show is only 30minutes. I can only say that it concentrated my parts. Previously, there were other female ghosts and some other extras. This time, all were removed. Left only Xiaoqian, Ning Cai Chen, tree demon, Gao Qing Song and the taoist's parts. I dunno lor, obviously teacher didn't give bala alot of songs. Just 2 verse in the beginning. Then Tian singing 1 verse only... Ang is going to sing for tian's ending song. Only me got add 3 new songs and retain most of the old songs. Why me?? Aiyoh.. I very stress leh cuz I cannot remember the weird wordings. My mind was a blank when I was rehearsing just now. Yesterday Biyu jie show me the brochure for Liyaxian that explanade email her. I ask her to forward it to me so that I can show you guys. This brochure will be distributed from Monday onwards and there will be a website made for it too. This is the cover page. Biyu jie don't like it and several people don't like it but it was too late to change anything because they have already started printing. Haiz.. Biyu jie said that the pic of Uncle Lim does not match with Ruwang but Ruwang does not have any proper opera photo and this photo was taken during rojak. Uncle's photo was take especially for this brochure so they look sort of different. Biyu asked Ruwang before to retake some proper opera photos for this flyer but she didn't have any time. Too busy with work. When Susan saw this brochure she exclaimed:"Aiyoh! Why uncle look like Cha BOR???" Uncle: It's because of the hat ba, cuz we got that hat from YueJu.. So maybe I look more feminine in that. Susan: Aiy...

Nie xiao qian, the ever popular 'must do' script of COI, will be performed in Yueju.. Hee hee.. Today I am supposed to go for rehearsal at COI for the upcoming Yueju performance next week but we ended up spending 2 hours watching the Nie Xiao Qian's rehearsal. Frankly speaking, not only the actress were tired. I was very tired too. Having headaches and pain in the ear today. The one acting Nie Xiao Qian is a professional yueju actress.. Think her name is Hang Juan. Her partner, Meng Ke Juan, is not in Singapore yet. I took a photo. As an amateur actress, I think the one doing Ning Cai Chen is not bad too. She seems very serious and her movements were quite swift. Well super tired... for me tho.

Some people who knew me for some time will know that I like to read comics. I like comics and I like opera and I found this comic book which tells a story about a Japanese learning Pekin Opera. Oooh.. unique fusion. This series only has 3 books. And this is MEI LAN FANG in manga style. Cute right..Manga + opera. Look.. Isn't the manga version of Bai Su Zhen pretty? So sweet looking. I am still in the midst of reading it. I am at the 2nd book le and I think I can finish tomorrow already. Besides buying comics, I bought another book too. This book is so famous and popular. I must read it lor to know what's so good about it. I always take note of what people are reading in the MRT because I am short of novels. However, most of the novels that people read in the MRT do not suit my taste. This book is supposed to be very good. I hope I won't be disappointed. The other time I read 'Da Vinci Code' because the whole world was reading it. Well. I had high expectations for it...

Today XJ asked me if I am excited whenever I buy new hair pcs. I said "of course lor.." Then she told me that she has never seen me use that blue hair pcs I bought some time ago. I don't have a chance to use leh. So sad. I have a few sets of new hair pcs which I can't wait to use and I learnt some new movements which I can't wait to use too. Recently I have been going to Shui Xiao Yan's classes to learn water sleeves and she taught me some good moves. Very nice and elegant moves but I don't have chance to use yet. My god.. I skipped a lesson, I hope that she is still teaching water sleeves when I go back to her class. She is quite a good teacher, very humble and polite. I have seen her performance before and I think she is good for her age. This wed have to go down and practice lor..
