Me, Myself & Opera

I think a few weeks ago, during rehearsal, I spotted Richard in the above pose. Immediately, May excitedly ask me quickly snap it down to blog it. In my excitement, I forgot to change my camera to high res so the photo is blur. Well, Actually it's Richard... sleeping but pretending to read the script. Hahahah. Ang was rehearsing and Richard wanted to sleep. He always do this in class lor.. cant stand him. My mum trying out the indian costume. This time ang really 'xia zhong ben' to do this show. All new costumes leh .. Somemore we did not employ any tailor to do it. All costumes were made by Qiuyue. Materials bought by HXY. My god... QY make until ki siao lor. Some more this show got alot of characters. Alot of gods.. kings.. and princes. Siong . then I took a photo of this scene which I personally quite like it. I bought this VCD some time ago and tot I might upload a part of it. Gao Jia opera, tao hua da du. I dunno if there is a Liyuan version of this show but I think I have heard Uncle Lim said before that this show is normally done by Gao Jia opera. I like this show leh and if got liyuan version I hope I can get to learn it lor.

My god.. We are going to act 2 days of Maha.. Sian or not.. do 2 days. That stupid chua back out from the show cuz he din manage to cook up the huangmei opera. In the end we have to act 2 days. Wat the hell. So little audience already still act 2 days. Anyway, on the second day, Chua insisted that CBX must take up my role tho hxy suggested that cbx so Madri. To me its ok la. So bo bian, CBX will be acting my role on the 2nd day and I tot good lor, I dun need to act, can slack around and watch them perform as an audience that day. Who knows.... Skali MD cannot act that day and hxy ask me take his role as the blind emperor. My god.. I first time doing a sheng for the whole show. hahaha. some more is a blind sheng and I will be marrying May. May still kp her hubby is a blind man.. First time got chance to act with may as couple leh. Hahaha,... Will be quite funny I think.

May said that I got 5 tiny petite sons. Here they are. I am acting as Kunti in the show and these are my 5 sons.. From right, Jian Zhan, Bu Jun, An Jun Lang, Wu Zong, Jie Tian. My 5 sons very strong. Killed May's 100 sons. Hahaha..

Rehearsal again?! You must be thinking why I blog about rehearsal again. Aiyah, bobian, recently I only rehearse the coming shows. Didn't really do any other interesting stuff. So here it is. Rehearsal again. Everybody seriously looking at their scripts and jotting down whatever Ang was saying. Ang always change the lines which she created. Not only that, she change the stae positions of the actresses everytime we rehearse. So we are sometimes really confused about where to stand and we are scared to kana scolded also. Halfway thru the rehearsal, I noticed May squatting on the floor cutting something... So I took another photo from another angle... without her knowledge of course. She was actually cutting out the shape of the crowns to be sewed later on. The crowns are for the princes in the show. She very helpful la but she was doing it in the midst of rehearsal so I tot it was rather funny. Hahaha... XJ asked who acting as May's sons. Well, the above lor, except for Richard....

Sian leh.. When I got the mood to blog, stupid blogger refuse to upload photos. What a wet blanket. I have been trying to upload photos for the past 30 min without success.... Blogger should do something about this uploading problem...

Today went for Mahabaratha rehearsal and we rehearsed 2 scenes from the second half of the show. This scene will be after 18 years of the previous scene so I am actually more of a qing yi in this part and I got 5 sons. my sons : HXY, my mum, Zhenxuan, QY and WZ.. All older than me by dunno how many years. Then we had a very cute scenes where my 5 sons and the 4 sons od May sat together to gamble.. Illegal gambling around a table. I should have taken a bigger photo but I forgot to change the settings.. All of them peering at the dices to see how many points they got. notice HXY was wearing a funny hat. Here are my 5 sons sitting in a row. Hee hee.. Alas.... May's 100 sons all died under the hands of my 5 sons.. So sad right. so hard to give birth to 100 sons leh!! But all died.. haiz.

I also very weary leh, I thinking of quitting opera and just be an audience. I spend so much time and effort in opera but I am not getting anywhere. Like I have not learnt anything at all. It is sometimes devastating. Haiz, is it worth it? to give up so much and in the end i got more and more devastation. Think maybe I should just be an audience, more relax.. Zippo naners.. later gotta go COI. Fortunately, my role for this mahabaratha is kinda minor. So I not so stressed. Can go there talk rubbish, relax.. Suddenly feel like watching pekin opera.. hahaha.. Aiyoh. very long never buy opera vcd leh. So busy plus recently expenses very high, need to pay fees again. Broke liao.

Well, got an sms this morning that I still blog about taiwan. Ok la.. Today blog something else. I must keep up to the expectations to my visitors! Hahah ..sorry la... recently quite busy leh, seldom at home so can't blog much. I will try tho. ok, talk about my coming performance. We are going to perform Mahabaratha on 3 Nov at the Kreta Ayer Theatre. It's once again an indian legend. I think the original story should be quite nice but unfortuantely, the story is too long to perfrom in 2 hours and hence I think the audience will be very blur. My role for this show will be a god in the beginning, a very minor role, who was sent to reincarnate with his 7 other brothers to suffer. After that I will be acting as Kundi, an empress. The emperor will be HXY who will die soon and then will act as my son. Imagine HXY is my son. Abit weird lor. First time leh. I have got 5 sons and HXY will be one of them. These 5 sons will fight with the 100 sons of May. May is a princess who married a ...

Yah.. Today finally got time to blog liao. Recently very busy la. Got rehearsals.. classes and got to go moon tanning.. Very busy. Ok.. today I going to end this taiwan blog with some other photos lor. BTW, got ppl urge me to quickly blog and comment that I very long never blog.. Well... The next morning after our performance, we went to eat.. walk... and then have to attend this confrence at 2:30pm. The conference was at this.. Xia Lin night market is just a small eating street near to our hotel, Santos. We went there to eat under the reccomendation of the Santos's recep. Who went leh? Me, Richard, WZ, GuoLai, Lin Jia, Jian Wei and De Shun. Ok.. Dun think u all know Jian wei and Deshun. Jian wei was the in charge of the lightings and Deshun was in charge of the subtitles. Richard shopping expresslessly in the Xia Lin eating street... No la.. I think he is thinking of what to eat. Glutton mah.. See so many different type of food. He dunno what to choose. Better still, he want to try everything... We walked the whole street and some of them said they wanted to eat dumplings. Jian wei objected as he is from Shanghai and he said if he wanted to eat dumplings, there are loads in Shanghai.
