Me, Myself & Opera

Somewhere in my previous post, fr mentioned that SL will send Steven for overseas training. Recently, I recieved some video clips from Steven adn I wanna post it up but hor aiyoh, he burn it as MP4 and I realised that I cannot edit that lor. Need to convert to something else which I very lazy to go and download the converter. Sian like hell. As I was saying, he gave me some video clips of his interview and Rojak performance. I told him he look like Humpty Dumpty in the Rojak costume. Hahaha.. Steven dun read my blog so it's ok to write a bit about him. Reason for writing about him is becuz I realised that he is starting to get famous. heh... Since I can't cut a video from the clips he gave me, I will post some print screen abit lor. Yesterday at 1+am, I recieved a sms from my dearest Huang Fu Shao Hua. She say,"tomolo 9pm we are going to take photos for May's performance. Please take your shoes, make up kit and the dans please bring hair pieces and costumes." Obviously, the last line is for me lor cuz the other dan, May, is not around and the rest of the dans do not own any hair pieces or costumes. Anyway, I dun intend to bring costume la. Abit mah fan. My wig, hair pieces and make up kit already very heavy. Just wear whatever Ang brought. I arrived at COI at 7pm. Ang say,"whoever want to start to do make up can stay here and do, those who want to eat dinner, let's go together." I opted to take dinner. So at the dining table, Ang told us the gist of the story. The title is "Zhen Jia Dai Fu" (Real fake doctor). I won't elaborate the storyline lah cuz I not so sure about the story yet. I only know roughly what its about. Yesrerday I went to SL for a monthly committee meeting. I was a bit late lah, due to some dilly dally at COI. Our SL director, Mr Ding, said that our meeting will be short. He just want to announce some stuff. Firstly, it is confirmed that our first stop for Rojak performance will be Beijing in October and Shanghai in November. It will be a 1 month long trip which lots of the performers can't make it. We still got a job lor, can't afford to go off for one whole mth. So there will be 2 batches of performers, each batch will take turn to go. Then, SL was sponsored for 2 years to send its members to China for upgrading. Good news~ They will be sending four by fours. The first 4 will be going to Quanzhou to learn various Nanyin instruments. Biyu did say that if there is a chance, she will try to send me to learn LYX but then again, it will mean going to Quanzhou for at least 3 months. I can't possibly give up my job. Some time ago, I watched this VCD and at that time, I like the ending song very much. The melody was nice.. Love it. I would like to share this song with you guys. At the same time.. If you managed to watch till the middle of the clip, you will see a very familiar face. As you can see, the male lead was looking lovingly at the female lead. Awwwww.. So super duper sweet right... I never acted in any show that the male lead can give me that kind of look before. So envy leh. haiz... Think if a cute guy give me that kind of eyes I will melt sia! hahahaha.. Woot~ The story of this play is actually quite nice. You got to have patience to watch through the whole show as the plot was not straight forward. After the whole show then u will understand what the show was actually about. There are some opera bits here and there in the show too. Anyway, the point is, the male lead's looking at the female lead was super sweet lor.. :P Too bad the female lead is ming hua you zhu la.. I wanna blog ...

After missing for so long from SL, I today finally go there le. At first I sms Mei E ask her when she wanna go back to China.. Then I told her I want to treat her ask her when she free. So she told me to go down today and shun bian practice my songs... OMG. I like.. so long never sing Nanyin liao. So scared I rusty and she will be so disappointed with me. I was her first student. She wanted me to sing well. Oh well.. bobian.. last night I last minute revise abit the VIS (very important song). The VIS is a very significant piece as she make me learn that piece for a very long time. Everytime I go practice she make sure that we end the session with this VIS. So today I went to have dinner with her, gave her a treat. It was raining like hell, my god.. Then we went up to SL to pao teh.. Pao teh session is a must have session everytime I go SL. Then we started off singing ' Yuan Xiao Shi Wu'. A piece from Chen San Wu Niang. I know may must be thinking,"Chen San Wu Niang again?...

Last week I went to see this street opera during New Year Eve at AMK. I didn't want to go at first but I am meeting my friends rather late and there was still time so I went to see see lor. This Si mei's troupe invited 2 taiwanese to aid their troupe. Some ppl said that the sheng looked like Ong Lan Hua.. Well.. I dun really think so and anyway I dun really fancy Ong Lan Hua. She is not my kind of Sheng lor. This Taiwan sheng didnt really sing well lor. Then there was another Taiwanese dan. Fortunately she didn't wear any bulky costumes but she was wearing her own costumes. I only took 2 photos of this dan then I waited for Yingying to appear. I wasn't really concentrating on the show lor. I walked around.. bought dinner and sit there chit chat while eating. They were acting LiuQuan Jin Gua. This show is quite famous though. New hair pcs I just acquired a few days ago~ hee hee.. For me, getting a new set of hair pcs is always a happy thing lor... This set is a purple set and reason for buying it is cuz it includes a butterfly~ yeah.. my first butterfly~ In terms of the handicraft, I think another seller has more delicate skills than this seller but hor, ok lah, also not bad lor. A 20 pcs set. Somehow the real pieces are always nicer than the photos leh... Too bad.. I like these small pcs. I think they are impt in a set of hair pieces to fill up the empty spaces. Some hair pieces set dun have the 5 small flowers. Very pek cek when I got small space to fill up. Earrings.. Lovely butterfly~ Ok, thats all for this hair pcs blog which the shengs will not enjoy.. hahaha... toodos~
