Guan Yin Dan

Finally, after practicing the songs for so long, today the performance went smoothly but I didnt sing well. I don't know why my voice just didnt project today. It is like stuck in my throat. As I am one of those wearing a clip mic, any mistakes can be heard clearly. So I didn't dare to sing too loud. Actually it's my fault for not being more confident. When I sang alone at SL, Mei-E said that my singing is ok.

Today, I watched Uncle Lim sing E Mao Xue. I like the song and I like the way he sing it. It is so nice. I was very touched. I was so engross in the song that I forgot to change my earrings, my earrings broke. Especially the part when he sang,"白玉钩当了,五花马宰了,来兴儿卖了..."

The lyrics plus his singing plus his body language is so touching. Everyone's eyes were glued on him. He didn't do much movements, just a few basic flipping hands, walk around etc.. but it was simple yet so expressive. Goes to show that you don't have to do many movements to express yourself. Just a simple and basic movement can touch the audience already..

Ok, enough of that. Today Mei-E didn't sing any full solo piece. So sad. I love her singing. But Liying sang a solo piece from the Qing Dynasty part. Uncle Lim was acting as emperor and Liying sang a song to hint the emperor that the musicians would like to go back to their hometown. Think I said this before liao right.. hee hee.. Anyway the solo piece was nice too but I didnt get to hear it as I was busy changing costumes.

This is the one. Spot a malay in the 5 musicians!

Someone dun want his name to be mentioned said that the dress is nice.. hee hee..

Also, I decided to post up a video of us practicing Chun Guang Ming Mei. It is blur because it was taken by my HP.

Hi Chinatown boy, thanks for coming to our performance. I saw your review in your blog but was yet to comment. I felt very happy to know that there are still people appreciating our art.

I will keep updates in my blog for coming performances. For Siong Leng, we go to Tian Hock Keng on every birthday of Guanyin, which is 3 times a year.

Thank you for informing me of the Yue Opera! I love opera and I will definitely make time to go watch it! Thanks again!
