Sick and Tired

Haiz, the title says it for me. Sick and Tired.

Of what?

Everything lor.

Seems like my blog is always full of unhappiness and kping. I would love my blog to be a happy blog but unfortunately, the owner is not a happy person so the blog is also a gloomy, sad blog.

Feel kind of down and gloomy and glum and sian these few days. Maybe it's because of the lack of quality performance opportunities or maybe it's because of other things like opera politics. Whatever it is, I just feel so super sian and unmotivated.

I felt again that I have done badly in my opera life. I felt that I am so lousy and I didn't improve for a long long time. Even ah gou and ah mao cao do better I think. Unlike me, stagnant, no break through, can't improve. Am I going to stay like this forever?! Stay as lousy as ever. Other people can improve so much within days and months but I just stay there like a stone. Stone there, cannot move, cannot talk. Like shit lor. If I stay like this, I can never realise my dream to be really good. Haiz... Don't know what to do liao. Maybe I should talk to uncle Lim or something.

As you all know, I will be going to Indonesia at the end of the month but somehow, I am not looking forward to it at all. In fact, I felt that I shouldn't have agreed to go. Then I wouldn't need to go rehearsals. I can just lay in my bed day after day to slack and sleep. I felt like having holidays somewhere. Not performing trip, just purely holidaying. Actually when I go overseas perform, I seldom get to rest. It's always rehearsals and more rehearsals. Maybe they will give us half a day to go walk walk but that's all.

Haiz.. Somtimes I even wonder if I am right to have started all these opera things. If I never, I will probably have nothing to do on weekends, everyday go party, shopping and watch movies.

Feel like digging a hole and just hide inside it so that no one can find me....

I think being a solders is a good way to execise (fitness).

Perhaps you can learn more about
"武旦" in the future, so you can learn more Chinese opera *movements and doing *fitness, at the same time.

Save time and double benefits.

I didn't know that Chinese Opera is famous amongst Indonesians.
And I thought Ramayana is a Hindu story.
I'm confused!!!

The last time we went to Indonesia, the audience loved it. THere are lots of indonesian chinese there who used to watch hokkien opera. They were so crazy for my teacher, who is a sheng, and they keep pestering her to take photos.

Ramayana is an indian story but our school change it to a chinese opera script so we can act it out. I acted it quite a few times liao and find it alittle boliao.

Wow,did your school compose the songs too?

Most of the opera shows I've seen are mostly shows which were already scripted and have been recorded into CDs. Like Princess Chang Ping, Dreams of The West Chamber, The Purple Hairpin, all these have been originally acted by famous opera artists.

And the live shows I watched used the same story and songs from them, though they do add in a little stuff here and there.

For our opera type, we have a standard set of tunes. So we will just mix and match the tunes and compose the lyrics to fit in. I think most opera type has got their own standard set of tunes.
