Tears of Barren Hill

Years ago, I first watched a production from this troupe, 十二面体, and it was also the first time I watched Kunqu. From then on, I fell in love with the melodious and sorrowful tunes of Kunqu. It also introduced a wonderful actress called Shi Xiao Mei to me.

This time, they are coming to perform again and the show is 'Tears of Barren Hill'. The name belongs to a traditional Pekin Opera show but they are now presenting an experimental version of it. Doubtless, I won't be able to understand these kinds of experimental shows but I am still excited to see it!

BECAUSE, Shi Xiao Mei will be there too and I am sure there will be some nice singings for me.. :D

Yay, I got a ticket for 3 Feb. It's the only day I am free next week.

I wouldn't reccomend people to watch this because they will come back to me and kp that they don't understand a thing. Well, that is normal. Just enjoy the experience can le.. :)

进念•二十面体 （香港 / 中国）

让传统与当代发生碰撞，将现代意识引入戏曲。延续其《佛洛伊德 – 寻找中国情与事》和《挑滑车》等实验剧目风格与探索的主题，此次香港前卫剧团“进念”将秉承80余年前中国京剧大师程砚秋的创新精神，对戏曲艺术进行探索。

程砚秋在1932年西游欧洲时，已是京剧四大名旦之一（其余三人为梅兰芳、尚小云、荀慧生）。27岁的他，选择接受西方表演艺术的洗礼，积极重新检视中国戏曲，大胆寻求改革。

艺术总监荣念曾借程砚秋同名作品《荒山泪》为起点，融入大师西游欧洲追求艺术的经理，让角色在不同的空间转换中进行实验创作与思想碰撞，对古老艺术作跨文化跨时代的探索。

演出邀得著名昆曲艺术家石小梅，青年京剧演员蓝天与董洪松参与演出。

进念•二十面体与香港艺术节于2008 年联合委约作品。进念•二十面体由香港特別行政区政府资助。
