Lin was at my show!

I just found out after my performance last month that Uncle Lim was there that day!!!! I was like.. 'WHAT?????!!!!'

I have no idea that he will be there and I was so shock because I am afraid that he will think I am fooling around on stage or I am not acting properly or ...... I don't know. If I know that he will be there, I will be so super stress and I might perform badly.

Fortunately, he didn't tell me that he will be going to watch it. I didn't think that he will come at all because Uncle Lim never watch operas (though he is a professional actor). He only watch experimental stuff to get inspiration. I didn't think that he will appear at all and he didn't know the location nor the time of my performance.

In the end, he went and he even watched the whole show till the end.

I asked him why did he go watch it because I know he never watch operas.

He told me that he wanted to 关心一下 how I am performing outside cuz I am afterall, a student of his.

Frankly speaking, I was a little touched because he came all the way from his home at Bukit Batok to Tampines to see my show and he stayed till the end of the performance.

After I got over from shock and calmed down, I asked him how the performance was. He told me that our show should have more rehearsals to look into the details because we lack of the intricate details on acting. Moreover, many people seems to forget their lines.

For my part, he told me that I should consider about what kind of impression I should give to audience. What kind of inner feelings do I want to show.... I should dissect every single line I was going to speak and every single movement or expression I was going to do. Most importantly, he told me not to give up no matter how other actors are doing and no matter what harsh comments I received. I should hold on to my perserverance to improve artistically.

He knows that I am one who easily give up and feel dismay if I did a show really badly. I told him that I didn't want him to come watch the show because I was afraid that he will be disappointed and reprimand me. Moreover, I was not really prepared for that kind of role. He said that he didn't think that way... Phew...

In the end, I was glad he came. I was glad with the precious and constructive comments he gave me. Unlike most audience who comments on singing and looks (which I already know because ang will kp). I will try my best and improve with his comments in my next show~

i dun think he read my blog. I was guessing either he got the tickets from COI or he saw the papers and bought the tickets....

It's good to have someone who gives constructive and non-neutral feedbacks.. sometimes when I act, I just feel like hanging a sign over my neck reading "If you wanna say 'not bad', or 'good', get lost!" whenever I go down to interact with audience.. haha.... sometimes I just feel that Singaporean audience in general is quite reserved in giving comments, so everything is "good" or "not bad"... what the heck...

lol.. that's true.. i am one of those audience who dunno how to give comments. Sometimes I know that the person cannot take it so i will say 'not bad'. Or sometimes, I dunno that person well so I dun want to sound too harsh.. i will also say 'not bad'
