邯郸记
Recently, we started to rehearse this show, 邯郸记. I remembered the last time I acted it, the script really sucks. It is broken up in pieces and alot of things were just processed roughly. I think the audience must be bewildered and didn't know what the story is about. That time when I acted this show, it was done in 越剧 format. LOL. So IT right.. now we are going to do it in 歌仔戏 format.
Needless to say, teacher ang will need to rewrite almost the whole script to change the language into hokkien. Right now though we are rehearsing, she is still making changes to the script.
I wanted to act as the emperor in the show but unfortunately, this role was assigned to YH. Damn. YH first time get to do emperor but she doesn't seem excited at all. I was assigned to do a missy role. This role is a lead role but then I don't appear too often on stage. It's not as heavy as other lead roles in other shows. The only heavy role in this show is the male lead. Ang got to act from the start till the end.
However, this time I get to try something new too! I get to act as old woman! LOL cuz for my role, I need to act till I was 80 years old. Ang also need to act till 80 years old. Its kind of fun lor. So yah, something new for me that's good.
This show is now scheduled to act in end March but it's not confirmed. I think it might be pushed further back. Who knows what Chua is thinking..... He might think we are not ready or he might be too busy and forgot about us. Either way, I think this show won't be staged so soon lor.

haha, interesting that you get to role as old lady, can't wait to see the photo. And hope you can video it too!
This story has several version, or different writers of different stories at different time periods, refer to same story and had some changes.
But I think the one I read is the one you are acting now. It's the Ming dynasty. The earliest founding of the story is Tang Dynasty.
So who will be those animals in the story? (the animals that become human character in the dream) lol
