Hair styling lesson

Ok, here comes my hair styling lesson as requested by Anonymous. I don't who he/she is and he/she has not left me a comment yet.

To Anonymous:
I hope you are seing this because it took my some time to create this entire entry! And leave me a comment to let me know you have seen it. Hee hee~

The top most important thing in GZX opera hair styling is the front wig. For people with short hair, they will need the full wig but for me, I only need the front wig.

A front wig for your info looks like this:

Thanks to May and YH for this newly combed and washed wig. I showed the side view only because you can get a better idea why it's called a half wig. This thing cost a hefty $275. People who don't do opera said it's INSANE to buy a wig for that price but that is the market price.

The back view of the wig.

Step 1)

Put a long shaped bun thing at the back of the wig for extra support. Previously, I don't use this long shaped bun but I realised that the width of my wig is too short to support my 'gu ding' so I got to add this bun thing.

The bun looked awkward there but don't worry, it will be fine later.

Step 2)

This is a guding.

We will put the guding on top of the wig. Be careful of the angle. Ang always kp that our angle is wrong. I kana once before and from then on, I ALWAYS remember the correct position to put my gu ding. Gotta learn it the hard way.
Step 3)

The guding and the wig are now ready for you to put whatever you want on them. Like May, she like to be super dua ban, she will put an average of 20 hair pieces on it for her maid role.

For me, I will add this black thing with crystals on it for missy roles. For maid roles I probably won't put this so it's depend on you. This black thing is to add glitter to your hair so that you can blind the audience.
Adding this thing will make you more dua ban and taller which is a bad thing for me cuz I am tall enough. More of for people like May.. hohoho...

Step 4)

Hair pieces time.

Today I am using this purple set.
Start adding the pieces on ur guding. Be creative and think of some intersting way to poke the hair pieces. I was abit sian that day so my arrangement kind of suck.
-_-"

My way of arrangement is heavily influenced by Ang. Last time I used to let her arrange for me. Then I started doing it myself and let her approve. Nowadays I will do the arrangement myself and walk around in front of her. If she didn't shout it means that it's ok. I can more or less guess what kind of pattern she like for hairstyling.

The finished product. It looks fine in front but don't forget the back. The back is a big black space and that sucks.

Step 5)

The back.
I added a butterfly. Most hair pieces don't come with butterflies so you can spare 2 hair pieces for the back. Otherwise, you can put some ribbons or dangling beads.

The back view of me with the wig on my head. I am so sorry there is no front view available because I didn't do make up and it's super ugly to wear a wig without make up!

End of lesson..

Wait! I still got some photos to show.. These are photos of me doing the hair styling on my head which my friend, James, took for me.

The above demo was done with the wig on my knee but normally during performance, I will do it on my head with a mirror.

Now now, boys and girls, please don't forget to stick the side burn on your face ok? It's very very important.

Like I said, if you don't have a butterfly, put hair pieces at the back of your head will do.

End of hair styling lesson~ :D
