I am back!

Once again, my adventures in Indonesia ended with satisfaction and happiness. :D

For those who are concerned, our performance went well (Thanks XJ for the good luck!). For those who are unconcerened, I am sorry to tell you that our performance went well. Hee hee..

I didn't make any mistakes during my si bao performance which is really a relief. I was so damn worried that I will fumble or the sibao will slip out of my hands and clatter to the floor. How embarrassing that will be! Heng heng, I focused and concentrated so although I didn't play super well, at least I never drop my sibao.

However, I anyhow whack through the first piece which I just cannot grasp how to play! I have to follow the pipa's sound but the pipa is elusive. Sometimes I thought it is going to this way but it went that way instead. So when I am unsure, I just don't hit the sibao. If not I will create an out of beat weird sound. Though I anyhow whacked, I think the audience didn't realise cuz I put on a very 'I know it all' face, pretending that I am really an expert in si bao. :P

In one of the pieces, I was supposed to hold candles on coasters. The candle wax spilled over and kana my hands and skirt during the end of the piece. KNS leh, very pain but I still must pretend like I very steady and pro. Heng the wax cool down very fast, unlike hot water which will continue to burn you for ages. Then my skirt also kana the wax. Sian half. Dunno how to get rid of it. This costume is SL specially tailor make for me one so by hook or by crook, I must get rid of the wax stains.

The name of the show was 'Best of ASEAN Performing Arts' and the ASEAN secratarist was there. She was impressed with the show and told Biyu jie that she has never seen anything like this before. Great, this opens up a path to more future overseas performances! We actually submitted a performance proposal to Mexico but because of the swine flu, it was canceled. Merde!! But never mind la, biyu jie and our association chairman told me that we will still have future chances if I start to learn my pipa (@_@).

Later on, the guests and VIPs requested that we, the sibao performers, to go to the lobby and demo to them how to play si bao. So we went there and the audiences all crowded around us asking how to play it and tried to play it themselves. Then they took lots of photos with us, like super star like that.

I took some photos of that night's show but I will post up later. I looked very fat leh in that costume. Merde! I need to lose some weight!
