Cute Cute

I took 400 photos these few days!!! my god! I abit cannot believe myself. Alot of photos were very cute and I caught some very natural poses of Hong and Mei.

I will start off with photos of Yin Cha Yang Cuo. In this show, I took alot alot of funny photos. So many that I dun think i can finish uploading lor.. Bit by bit la... I dunno whether u have seen this show before or not but I heard that it is a common street opera show.

The story is, Hong's wife's spirit exchanged bodies with another man. So Mei mei became a man and the taiwan guy (ah beng) become a woman.

Hong saw an ah gua approaching her... Little did Hong know that this chao ah gua is actually her wife's spirit in a man's body....
Eeeek... hong siam! And the poor 'wife' fell down..
Hmm... 'He didn't recognise me? I am his wife leh.. Let me get closer..'
Hong:'Hmmm.. something wrong with this man...''I sit closer.....'
'and closer.....'
Hong:'what is this man doing?'Hong: 'Eeee.. i better siam some more....''I go closer and closer......'
Hong:' I SIAM!'
'Aaahhh... hai yah... make me fall down....'
Hong:' Who is this mad man? Dun tell me he is..... brokeback mountain?!'
'I am the person you love most! I am your wife!'
Hong:' Nonsense!'
'It's true!'
*Hong slaps him!
and kick him hard!'Aiyoh.....'

Just then, Hong's wife appeared. But she is actually not Hong's wife but a spirit of a man took her body.. Hong frantically grabbed her.
Mei:' I am not your wife!'
Hong:' You are my wife!'
Meanwhile, the ah gua still tries to attract Hong's attention but he realised that he can't do it so he 'ba wang ying shang gong'!
Hahaha.. Hong couldnt control her laughter when the taiwan guy suddenly grabbed her and hug her like the pic above..
And he refused to let go! hahaha.. See the ppl at the side of the stage luffing like mad also.. Mei saw that the guy grabbed Hong and she decided to grab her 'wife' also.
Mei: You are my wife!
..No I am not your wife!
Mei: Hmph... I am your husband and your dun recognise me!
Hong: you are my wife!
I am your husband la! Why you dun recognise me??

Hee hee.. my god.. I am so tired after uploading so many photos.. Take a break now. I will upload more photos another day. Tomorrow we going to act Yu Niang. I got a maid role to act cuz they dun have enuf ppl.

The photos nice or nt? I like the costume which Hong wore~ The green and the blue one. I tot they look very nice and simple. I also like the white one which mei mei wore... :)

I share so many photos~ so nice right? please comment!

juan: yup~ there is another green one which is the same as this blue one. I think both are nice. Actually for our show at GCB, we didnt use the si gui chun costumes. Hong use mostly her own costumes and most of them are embrodieries one. So on the stage u can see 2 different types of costumes.. embroidery ones and super dua ban liang pian ones..

Reminds me of last Hungry Ghost Festival when I watch teochew opera in HK.. on stage you can see 2 different style of actors... 1 batch wear traditional "China makeup" and wear "China costume" and put on "China wig", another batch putting on "Canto makeup", wear "Canto costume" and putting on "Canto wig".. hahaha... but also good la, to wear your own costumes. From what I know, street opera costumes are very stiff, you might not be able to do your actions in those costumes.

yah... I saw the si gui chun ppl wear those very stiff and shoulder piece very stiff costumes. I wonder how they can do movements with that costume and those costumes make u look very stiff like 'cha tao'.

But Xiumei jie got wear the si gui chun costumes lor... i think I saw her wear twice.. will post pictures of her soon!

Yday, I got act, so I din manage to take alot of pictures... sian leh.. cuz yday HXY look very cool.

I think they purposely make the costumes so stiff so that they do not crumple easily, and you'll look "smart" (depends on how you define that word though) on stage. I remembered when I first stood on this kind of stage with those kind of costumes, the watersleeves can't be folded at all, almost like that fabric softener advertisement we see on TV these days.. haha...
Miko said…
haha.. u wore those before? Must be a nice experience right? hahaha..

Anyway Honghong commented that the street opera here all dun like to use watersleeve, always use those wide sleeves. Stiff wide sleeves.

miko: I think you should know before last time I acted before as "JuOn" for one of the street opera troupes right? Hee... well, local street opera follow TW street opera style wat...

Oh forgot to say, the one I wore is not even the 变体衣, it's the normal kind of 褶子, but don't know why it's so stiff!

like u said... no need to iron mah... hahaha... When I go GCB to act, I never see them iron costumes. We are the only ones who iron costumes.
